Several tribes in Idaho used the bounty of Qémes as well as tribes all over of the Pacific Northwest. It has been a prized staple food since time immemorial.

In the late spring, early summer is when we knew to harvest.

The Qémes Lilies are still in bloom and continue to evoke the spirit of earlier days as we struggle between our colonized lifestyles and our traditional ones during the harvest season.

Assembled with a single bead stitch or what is commonly known as “pebble stitch” straight on smoked buckskin hide.
